🔹 About the Project

Ashvult: The Wraith is a psychological horror game currently under development at Pilgrim Studios, an independent team based in India.

This game is not about action or spectacle — it is built around atmosphere, dread, and emotional disorientation.
It explores isolation, suppressed memory, and the breakdown of reality through a deeply interactive, audio-driven experience.

🔹 Vision

Ashvult is primarily influenced by classic horror storytelling and audio fiction — particularly programs like Sunday Suspense, a Bengali radio horror series that shaped our understanding of fear through sound and silence.

This vision is strengthened by references from:

Obscure indie games like Amenti and Bernard Thorne
South Asian folklore, rituals, and ambient unease
Cinematic horror where pacing, breath, and quiet matter more than spectacle

Ashvult is an homage to stories that haunted us long after they ended — and an attempt to create something equally enduring, from scratch.

🔹 Current Development Status

We have already:

Completed early storyboarding, scripting, and direction
Built a functioning teaser using Unreal Engine 5
Established our tone, gameplay pillars, and sound identity
Started testing modular gameplay blocks on low-end hardware

Current system in use (single dev unit):

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H (Laptop)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile
RAM: 16 GB DDR4
Storage: 1 TB SSD

While functional, this setup heavily limits world-building, light simulations, real-time rendering, and animation fluidity required for a game of Ashvult's technical and aesthetic ambition.

🔹 Why Crowdfunding?

This campaign is intended to:

Upgrade our systems for sustained Unreal Engine 5 development
Enable seamless rendering, simulation, and workflow efficiency
Complete Ashvult in the form and fidelity it was meant to have

We are not asking for monthly support.
This is a one-time funding goal to cross a key threshold in production.

If this campaign reaches its goal in full, we commit to publishing the game in Q2 of 2026.
