Dear citizens,

See the image above? This is what our Bengaluru is going to be if the Govt goes ahead with its destructive agenda of constructing ill-advised and non-plan projects such as tunnel roads, elevated corridors, roads in buffer zones of rajakaluve and lakes, etc., To top it, they are also curbing grass-roots democracy by forming an unconstitutional GBA and disempowering ward committees, and elected city corporations.

What is worse is that the State Govt is wilfully violating the Constitution of India, and the Rule of Law to push these vested interest projects, and to abet the Real Estate Mafia, which seems to be the only interest that the politicians seem to care about. They are not interested in the interests of the general public. We, the public have to remind the politicians that it is us that they serve, we are the masters , and they are our servants. We have to repeatedly remind them.

Already, our city is in a bad state. If we do nothing, then we wil have to bear the outcomes of the shortsighted, ill-advised policies and projects of the State Govt. When the Govt itself loses its way there is no other option but to protest or approach the courts.

A group of concerned citizens have joined cause under the leadership of Prakash Belawadi the well known theater artiste, movie actor and social activist. Together we are pressuring the Govt to comply with the constitution and rule of law.

We have a lot of activities ongoing, such as PILs, Protests, Public Consultations, formation of a Citizens Masterplan for Bengaluru, and more…

We are fundraising for campaign expenses, incidental and legal costs. All those who wish to support us in this cause are welcome to contribute.

Let’s Build a Better Bengaluru — Together!).
